WEEKLY SERMON REFLECTIONS

Each week, take 5 days to dive deeper into the heart of our Sunday sermons! Through key insights and scripture, this format will allow for further personal reflection and spiritual growth. Keeping this at the dinner table, discuss it with family and/or friends.

PRAYER OF THE WEEK:

“Lord, thank you that we can come boldly to you in prayer knowing that you hear us and you desire for us to be in relationship and conversation with you. Teach us to lean into your truths and let it guide the way we live our lives for you and Your Kingdom, not our own or other worlds begging for our allegiance. We love you and surrender our will to yours, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

DAY
01

The time is fullled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.

-MARK 1:14-15

REFLECTION:

We live in this world, but we are not of this world–Jesus calls us to live in God’s kingdom no matter where we are positionally. Our aim is to be kingdom minded.

RESPONSE:

In what ways have you allowed yourself to be a servant in the world, as an attempt to produce ‘garden’ life apart from God’s plan for flourishing?

DAY
02

...while Jesus was praying in a certain place, after He had finished, one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray as John also taught his disciples.

-LUKE 11:1

REFLECTION:

We need to orient our hearts toward God’s design. We need to relinquish our own pursuit of success apart from His Kingdom plan.

RESPONSE:

Considering your prayers...do you ask God to fulfill His will in your life or are your prayers more for God to bless your plans? Let us exchange our ways for His.

DAY
03

Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven Hallowed be Your name. ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil...Amen.

-MATTHEW 6:9-13

REFLECTION:

This prayer may seem simple, but it lays out the intentionality of God with us. There is no kingdom of Heaven, no fulfilled life, no religious practice, without a relationship and conversation with God as your Father.

RESPONSE:

How often do you pray (talk to God)? What hindrances to prayer do you need to remove to make more time to grow in your relationship with the Lord?

DAY
04

Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him.

-JOHN 14:6-7

REFLECTION:

Jesus is not leading us into a world of more success. Jesus is leading us into an eternal Kingdom of which you ‘belong’.

RESPONSE:

Jesus is the way to the Father. How can you practically live out a Christ centered life that will enable you to live in God’s kingdom apart from the pull to live for yourself or in someone else's world?

DAY
05

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

-ROMANS 12:2

REFLECTION:

The Kingdom is now, even still while we are living in this temporary world influenced by evil and sin. We can renew our minds to the word of God, stay in conversation (prayer) with Him and let the Holy Spirit be our guide.

RESPONSE:

How can you invite God’s kingdom into your family, your work, your thoughts and every other aspect of your life? Time to dig in deep and lean in to what God is speaking to you. What things from the sermon inspire you to seek more?
