Living Between The Cry Of Two Different Opinions
Pastor Paul takes us through the "portal" of biblical exploration this summer for us to get a deeper understanding of complex biblical figures, such as David, Moses, Thomas, and more all with the goal of emphasizing that our imperfections do not hinder our ability to have relationship with God. Paul speaks to us this week of the struggle between faith and doubt, exemplified by Thomas's journey, and addresses how societal labels can define individuals by their weaknesses, undermining their true identities. Rather than shy away or feel a shame we’re invited to embrace our questions and uncertainties as part of our faith journey. Our doubts have the ability to promote growth and God welcomes us to sincerely seek understanding to them. Paul illustrates that in us all there is the duality, the Didymus, the twin cries of opinion of our belief and unbelief and like Thomas we should desire the response of those opinions to be my Lord and my God.
