Christ-Culture At CROSSTOWNE
Culture is a compilation and embodiment of a set of ideas that make up the definition and expression of a group of people. In a Christ-centric culture, we no longer define our standard of ethics and values by the culture around us, or even our own human nature.
Christ-Culture is intentional and does not happen by accident.
We exert it. We impose it. We control our ambitions, desires and responses based upon it.

Be Understanding

Our Story

Crosstowne is not the only church, but one of many amazing churches in the Charleston area where people can come and find belonging, seek refuge, take on challenges, and experience the love of Jesus. We are people in progress. People on a faith journey, aligning themselves with Christ, and His Word to make a difference for God's glory.
Crosstowne began in Citadel Mall Cinemas 27 years ago (1996). We had very small beginnings as we worshipped God in a movie theater to the sounds of Jurassic Park playing next door. About 5 years later, God provided us the building we are currently in off of Bees Ferry Road. This building used to be a gym, so a few renovations needed to be done - including removing a scoreboard.
In the year 2015, our church experienced the first of three floodings. We literally kayaked through the church! We flooded again in 2016 and 2017 along with many people in the Charleston area. We are currently working with city officials to find a solution for the Charleston flooding issues. We are very honored to be a part of the environmental conversation that God has called us to. The floods taught us many things, most especially that The Church is not a building but the people of God!
We are thankful for the years of learning and growing, and look forward to many more. We are grateful for those who have stood by us through it all and have taken the journey to grow with us. We realize now that God brought us through years of sticky popcorn, sparse crowds, basketball hoops, and getting our feet wet so we could become a church that desires to live out the mission of Christ.
