WEEKLY SERMON REFLECTIONS

Each week, take 5 days to dive deeper into the heart of our Sunday sermons! Through key insights and scripture, this format will allow for further personal reflection and spiritual growth. Keeping this at the dinner table, discuss it with family and/or friends.

PRAYER OF THE WEEK:

“Lord, thank you for the Holy Spirit who will guide me into your truth and make known to me how I am supposed to live with a kingdom mindset. Help me not to be overwhelmed, but rather fully trust that you will bring the change as I keep my eyes on Jesus–Your Word. In Christ’s name we pray, Amen!”

DAY
01

The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sewed in his field; and this is smaller than all other seeds, but when it is full grown, it is larger than the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.

-MATTHEW 13:31-32

REFLECTION:

The word-picture here is that for those of us who are willing to embrace the Kingdom of Heaven, transformation begins and flourishing takes place.

RESPONSE:

What ‘small seed’ can you sow in your thoughts, habits and home, that will align more with God’s big-picture? (It’s the small stuff that often has a big impact.)

DAY
02

Jesus said:“...My kingdom is not of this realm.

-JOHN 18:36

REFLECTION:

God’s kingdom emanates from the heart and mind of God himself.

RESPONSE:

Take a thought inventory. What has been occupying your mind over the last 24 hours? What worries, what ideologies, what views? Are you kingdom minded in your thought life? How can you interrupt those thoughts with God-thoughts?

DAY
03

Set your mind on things above, not on the things that are on earth.

-COLOSSIANS 3:2

REFLECTION:

Our personal mindset has a parent-narrative. It was ‘seeded’ by something. It’s likely a mix of our upbringing, our past, our failures and successes, cultural influencers, etc...We need to let God parent our mindset.

RESPONSE:

Who is your favorite influencer? Is what they're selling you something that promotes a kingdom-mindset or do you see any rub there with God’s truths?

DAY
04

Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.

-3 JOHN 1:2

REFLECTION:

Consider what lens you are viewing life through. We can’t fix our broken glasses with broken glasses. We need God’s word sewn in our hearts, so that we can have a healthy vision that brings us His truth, love and peace.

RESPONSE:

What kingdom has ‘seeded’ your mindset? What can we do to adjust our spiritual glasses to better see things the way God wants us to?

DAY
05

I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

-EPHESIANS 3:16-19 (NLT)

REFLECTION:

Make this verse as a prayer for yourself to bring alignment. We are not alone. God’s Spirit is on the inside of us to bring us clarity and help on this journey.

RESPONSE:

How can knowing who you are in Christ and the love that God has for you, help you to rightly relate to this world and have discernment on what you let in the garden of your mind?
