WEEKLY SERMON REFLECTIONS

Each week, take 5 days to dive deeper into the heart of our Sunday sermons! Through key insights and scripture, this format will allow for further personal reflection and spiritual growth. Keeping this at the dinner table, discuss it with family and/or friends.

PRAYER OF THE WEEK:

Lord, thank you that you are not done with us yet. There will be times of doubt and uncertainty in our lives as there have been, but you are a God of clarity and transparency. You call us into a relationship with you, to trust you, and love and be loved by you. Help us to do that for others. Help us to champion each other on and encourage one another in the Word of God. Holy Spirit, we invite you in to bring all things to our remembrance and to help us to put our Hope in Jesus. Amen.

DAY
01

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, who the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.

John 14:26

REFLECTION:

The Spirit of Truth reveals the ‘real Jesus’ to our souls. He interrupts our thoughts, understanding, and even our plans to reveal deeper truths of scripture to us.

RESPONSE:

How open are you to the Holy Spirit interrupting your thoughts? What can you do this week to get into the word of God at least 3 times to let the Holy Spirit bring His truth into your understanding?

DAY
02

We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing that raise up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ…

2 Corinthians 10:5

REFLECTION:

We can challenge the confused, conflicting and disappointing thoughts that we have about life, others, ourselves, and God, by inviting the Holy Spirit into the deep conversations of our soul and bringing everything back into alignment with Jesus.

RESPONSE:

Are there any areas of your thinking where you need to allow God to interrupt and realign you with His truth? What thoughts do you need to take captive?

DAY
03

While they were talking and discussing, Jesus Himself approached and began traveling with them.

Luke 24:15

REFLECTION:

God will always interrupt you. He wants to be included in your deepest conversations. He wants to talk to you about your doubts and fears. He wants His connection with you to interrupt something deep within.

RESPONSE:

Will you let Him travel with you, break into your arguments, into your thoughts and have a heart to heart with you? What could that look like practically?

DAY
04

They said to one another, “Were not our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us on the road, while He was explaining the Scriptures to us?"

John 24:32

REFLECTION:

The Holy Spirit brings the Scriptures alive to us. They have the power to reshape our understanding of life, to restore hope and to guide our next steps.

RESPONSE:

How has God’s word interrupted your life and changed your perspective on things?

DAY
05

And they got up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found gathered together the eleven and those who were with them, saying “The Lord has really risen and appeared to Simon.

Luke 24:33-34

REFLECTION:

An encounter with the Word of God, led by the Spirit of God, with like-minded people changed their direction. When we are open to being interrupted by God, we find ourselves on a mission, sharing the message of hope and transformation with those around us.

RESPONSE:

Has there been a time where a brother or sister in Christ helped spur you on in your faith journey? How can you expose yourself to the principles of God’s word and connect with others to edify them in their walk with God?
